Marc Lachance's Profile

ME LachanceMarc Lachance received a BA in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Windsor. During that program, he took computer-programming courses and started his career as a computer programer.

His career took him to many different aspects of Information Technology. From programming, he went into software support, software development, hardware and capacity planning for large datacentres. He was involved in the beginning of The Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC). He worked for two canadian Banks and was project manager for the opening of their datacentre.

He crossed another boundary when he moved into telecom. He was responsible for managing the national voice and data communications networks at two Banks.

This background gave him a breadth of experience that is not available to most information technology professionals. Most are specialists. Marc worked with specialists in many different areas, providing him with expertise to deal with all aspects of technology. As computers came out of the back office, he developed skills at improving the business processes, showing improved quality of service and productivity improvements of up to 40%

During the last 10 years, Marc has worked as a consultant, helping organizations of all sizes to improve productivity and quality by combining the capabilities of process improvement and Information Technology.

His experience at dealing with specialists in all types of technology has allowed to keep up-to-date on a broad variety of technologies, by relying on the skills of specialists in each of these areas.  Yet, because of his business process focus, he can communicate effectively with with business managers and technicians providing a necessary "translation" service. 

Marc Was a founding member of BNI B2B Strategic Partners and its first President. 

He also proudly serves on the Board of Directors of Telecare Distress Centre, a non-profit, community-based organization that provides a caring and confidential telephone support service 24 hours, 7 days a week and is run by trained volunteers and staff to serve the diverse communities of the Region of Peel, including the Town of Caledon and surrounding areas.   To find out more about Telecare and the services it offers or to contribute, click on the logo at left.
